Our last week at college for this year was quiet.
We made some christmas cakes to sell at the college, as well as some shortbread and mince pies. Of course, I spent my time in a self-described marshmallow-hell, and then caramel-hell. I made six batches of caramel in one morning, then I had the kids in a class below come in and ask what I was doing, so I had to explain sugar-cooking to them.
I ended up with two recipes that I was really happy with. -and then... disaster. I tried one of the marshmallow chocolates earlier this week, and it looks like the sugar crystallised (the texture became quite grainy), so when I get back to college, it's going to be straight back to marshmallow-hell for me...
